Gary Rogers, MD

Gary Rogers, MD was one of the original founders of our practice. Upon receiving his bachelor's degree from Bethany College, Dr. Rogers went on to complete his medical degree at The Ohio State University. He then completed his training in ophthalmology at Mt Sinai Hospital and his fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Children’s National Medical Center. Dr. Rogers is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and has been named as one of the Best Doctors in America.

Dr. Rogers is a Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and the Chairman Emritus of the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He is a past President of Medical Staff at Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Ohio Ophthalmological Society and currently serves as the Medical Editor for Pediatric Directions and Surgical Scenes.

Dr. Rogers has been deeply committed to the education of future physicians and has participated in the training of most, if not all of the ophthalmologists who have graduated from The Ohio State University in the past thirty years. His clinical and research interests include pediatric and adult strabismus, fMRI and amblyopia and retinopathy of prematurity and he is widely published on these topics.

Don Bremer, MD

Don Bremer, MD is one of the founding members of our practice. Upon receiving his bachelor’s degree from Otterbein College, he went on to earn his medical degree from St. Louis Medical School. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and his fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Bremer is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and has been named as one of the Best Doctors in America.

Dr. Bremer is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and is the Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Nationwide Children's Hospital. His clinical and research interests include amblyopia, strabismus and retinopathy of prematurity, and he is widely published in these areas. During the course of his career, Dr. Bremer has served as the principal investigator on several multicenter National Institute of Health grants, including the CRYO-ROP study, STOP-ROP, ETROP and ATS studies, and on the Executive Committee for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigators Group (PEDIG).

Mary Lou McGregor, MD

Mary Lou McGregor, MD earned her medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio College of Medicine and then completed her training in ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital in Columbus and then a fellowship in strabismus at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England. Dr. McGregor is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and is listed in

Best Doctors in America.

Dr. McGregor is a Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and most recently served as President of Medical Staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and currently serves as the Director of the Pediatric Ophthalmology Clinic there. Her clinical and research interests include strabismus, pediatric cataracts, low vision and retinopathy of prematurity, and she has served as an investigator on several national multicenter studies including CRYO-ROP, STOP-ROP and ETROP.

Cybil Cassady, MD

Cybil Cassady, MD earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. After completing her training in ophthalmology at the University of Louisville, she went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Wayne State University and the Children’s Hospital of Detroit. Dr. Cassady is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Dr. Cassady is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and is a member of the Medical Staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Her clinical and research interests include strabismus, amblyopia, pediatric glaucoma and cataracts.

Richard Golden, MD

Richard Golden, MD completed his medical degree at The Ohio State University and his training in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he served as chief resident. He then returned to Ohio for his fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Golden is board certified in ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Dr. Golden is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and currently serves on the President of the Central Ohio Pediatric Society. As a member of both the faculty at The Ohio State University and the staff of Nationwide Children's Hospital, Dr. Golden is committed to both research and the education of future physicians. His clinical and research interests include strabismus, amblyopia, pediatric cataracts and retinopathy of prematurity.

David Rogers, MD

David Rogers, MD earned his medical degree from Wright State University and completed his training in ophthalmology at Indiana University. After residency, Dr. Rogers remained at Indiana University where he completed his fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. Dr. Rogers is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Dr. Rogers is a Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. As a member of the Medical Staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, he is actively involved in the training of residents and was awarded the Makley-Battles Resident Teaching Award for excellence in medical education in ophthalmology

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Rogers is very active in research and serves as the Director of Pediatric Eye Research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. His clinical and research interests include pediatric and adult strabismus, retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric cataracts and pseudotumor cerebri.

Julie Lange, MD

Julie Lange, MD completed both her medical degree and her training in ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and then her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the Eye Consultants of Atlanta and Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. Upon completing her training, she accepted the invitation to return to Columbus and join the physicians of Pediatric Ophthalmology Associates. Dr. Lange is board certified in ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Dr. Lange is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and a member of the Medical Staff at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She is very interested in all aspects of pediatric eye care but has special interest in amblyopia, strabismus, pediatric cataracts and low vision.

Her clinical interests include amblyopia, strabismus, pediatric cataracts and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).

Catherine Jordan, MD

Catherine (Cate) Jordan, MD completed both her medical degree and residency at The Ohio State University and then her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She served as chief resident of Ophthalmology at the Ohio State University Havener Eye Institute for the 2010-2011 academic year. 

Dr. Jordan is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and a member of the Medical Staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She is actively involved in clinical research as the co-Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology Research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She is actively involved in the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG). She completed a Leadership Development Program through PEDIG in 2023.

Dr. Jordan is board certified in ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). She is currently serving a three-year term as Director at Large for the AAPOS Board of Directors.

Dr. Jordan’s clinical interests include retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), pediatric cataracts, amblyopia, strabismus and optic nerve pathology.

Amanda Way, MD

Amanda Way, MD completed both her medical degree and ophthalmology residency from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Dr. Way is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. Way is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and is actively involved in the training of ophthalmology and general pediatric residents. She was also previously Director of the inpatient Ophthalmology service at Nationwide Children's Hospital. 

Her clinical and research interests include strabismus, amblyopia, pediatric cataract, and intracranial hypertension. She is conversationally fluent in Burmese.

Hilliary Inger, MD

Hilliary Inger, MD completed her medical degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. After completing her ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University, she completed her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Dr. Inger is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Dr. Inger is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and is a member of the Medical Staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Hersh Varma, MD

Hersh Varma, MD completed his medical degree at The Ohio State University. After completing his ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University, he completed his fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, followed by an additional fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Dr. Varma is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and is a member of the Medical Staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, as well as The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, where he treats adults in his Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinic. Dr. Varma's clinical and research interests include optic nerve disorders, optic disc anomalies, optic neuritis and neuropathy, optic disc edema, nystagmus and strabismus.
